How PrepMonster Works

What PrepMonster Does

PrepMonster is a browser-based toolkit for Amazon sellers. It includes two analyzers: the Search Volume Analyzer for keyword demand trends, and the Xray Criteria Analyzer for grading competition on the search results page.

Search Volume Analyzer

Start by checking the search volume graph in Helium 10's Black Box. Upload the 3-year chart export to PrepMonster and get a clear, rule-based keyword verdict in seconds.

1. Open Helium 10 Black Box and look up your target keyword.
2. Review the 3-year search volume graph and confirm demand level, seasonality, and trend direction.
3. Export the chart file from Black Box (CSV/XLSX with Time and Search Volume columns).
4. Go to Search Volume Analyzer and upload your CSV/XLSX file.
5. Review your verdict: estimated monthly volume, YoY trend, seasonality, launch-window notes, and 8 qualifying criteria.
6. Optional: AI insight. Enter your keyword and passphrase for a structured narrative summary (compact JSON only, never the raw chart).

Xray Criteria Analyzer

Once search volume looks viable, export search results from Helium 10 Xray and grade the top 15 Amazon search results (Display Order 1–15) against qualifying criteria, including price, revenue, reviews, AMZ sellers, brand dominance, and more.

1. Qualify search volume first. Use Search Volume Analyzer with your Black Box chart export.
2. Run Helium 10 Xray on your target Amazon keyword in the Helium 10 browser extension or dashboard.
3. Export the search-results file from Xray (Amazon search results export as CSV/XLSX).
4. Go to the Xray Criteria Analyzer and upload your CSV/XLSX file.
5. Results appear instantly. PrepMonster uses Display Order to identify the top 15 search results and evaluates every criterion.
6. Review your verdict and see pass/fail for each rule, failing ASINs, and a full product table.

Manual checks (in Helium 10)

Some checks are not included in the Xray export file and must be verified separately in Helium 10. Pull search volume from Black Box first, then upload the chart file (CSV/XLSX) to PrepMonster's Search Volume Analyzer for the trend verdict.

Privacy

Your CSV/XLSX file is read entirely in your browser using JavaScript. PrepMonster does not upload your file to any server. Your data never leaves your device.
